To the editor: We read with interest the article "Management of Household Contacts of Leprosy Patients" by Filice and Fraser in the April issue. We agree with the authors that it is important for healthy persons having contact with patients with all forms of lepromatous and borderline (dimorphous) leprosy to undergo annually a clinical examination for a minimum of 5 years after initiation of treatment of the index case.
