Crohn's disease is a chronic relapsing inflammatory disease of the intestinal tract for which a cause and specific cure remain undetermined. Brooke and his colleagues hope to alert the medical profession to the increasing prevalence of this disorder so that the diagnosis can be considered, reasonable therapy offered, and efforts be channeled into further investigations of the cause. This is, as promised by the senior author, a brief, concise book that one can read "consecutively" and quickly. It does convey general information about some of the problems associated with Crohn's disease; however, this is done in an uneven, anecdotal manner.
