Lindheimer and Katz succinctly present critical information for physicians caring for pregnant patients with renal or hypertensive disorders. Normal renal function is briefly reviewed and the usual physiologic changes of pregnancy are discussed in depth. The authors are particularly well qualified to do this because of their own considerable contributions to the literature on the normal renal physiologic changes in pregnancy.
