New information on left atrial hypertrophy, Ta waves, left anterior hemiblock, changes in interpretation of the Q wave, and right and left axis deviations. A new chapter deals with the monitoring leads used in the intensive care unit, and with descriptions of the electrocardiographic (ECG) features and patterns, indications, and limitations of their use. Each point discussed is illustrated by an ECG tracing, and each type of ECG is first presented diagrammatically and enlarged. For each abnormality are listed the clinical condition, various pathologic states producing the pattern, and the ECG criteria. Glossary and subject index.
