Proceedings of an International Health Foundation-sponsored round-table meeting held in May 1977 in Brussels. Surgeons, psychologists, sociologists, a psychiatrist, and a female volunteer worker who had had breast cancer discussed two aspects of psychosocial problems resulting from breast cancer: the psychosocial difficulties women may face after mastectomy, and the psychosocial factors that play a role in whether or not women participate in screening programs for breast cancer.
