Proceedings of a multidisciplinary symposium held 7-8 July 1977 at the University of Stirling (England). Factors involved in the treatment of renal failure are examined, and roles played by different professional groups concerned with patient management are assessed. Subjects include selection of patients; developments in hemodialysis and transplantation; limited care; and clinical, economic, social, and psychologic aspects. Papers by a patient and by a former patient "highlight some of the human problems of 'Living with renal failure.'
