My colleagues and I tested the usefulness of this book on gonorrhea, Volume 9 of Major Problems in Dermatology* by referencing questions from our house officers to its contents. I subjected the contents of this text to such a panel because it seemed that the book would be most useful to house officers and practitioners of family practice or domiciliary care rather than to specialists in infectious diseases. For ten questions, ranging from the treatment of penicillinase-producing gonococci to the transmissibility of pharyngeal gonococcal infection, the answers supplied by this book were judged as useful in 90%.
