In one monumental book, Hazards of Medication, Eric Martin has undertaken to describe the many pitfalls faced by doctor and patient whenever a prescription is written, to analyze the potential hazards throughout the entire drug distribution system, and to provide detailed tables of effects of drugs on laboratory tests, adverse drug reactions, incompatibilities among drugs in solutions prepared for intravenous administration, and interactions among more than 1000 different drugs. The smaller paperback, Drug Interactions Index, contains the last 300 or so pages of its gigantic parent text.
