Proceedings of a workshop held in April 1978 by the Center for Population Research of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Topics covered include morphology, physiology, endocrinology, antigens, antibodies and immune complexes, immunopathology, immunologic studies of vasectomized men, and epidemiology. Results of studies are summarized in an excellent closing section. Data reported here indicate that over one and one half million men had vasectomies in the period from 1974 through 1976. Most physicians are therefore likely to see vasectomized patients, both physicians and patients should be aware of the studies reported here.
