To the editor: Young (1) states in his brief report that histologic characteristics of the liver in Brucella melitensis hepatitis differ from those in B. abortus infection (diffuse rather than granulomatous hepatitis). He bases this opinion on findings in a series of five patients with B. melitensis hepatitis and in experimental infection in mice. Information on histologic findings in liver in patients with B. melitensis infection is admittedly rare in the literature.
