To the editor: The statement of Young (1) in the September 1979 issue, that hepatic granulomas are present in infections due to Brucella abortus and absent in those caused by B. melitensis, is not accurate.
Hepatic granulomas have been found in many patients with brucellosis living in Spain, where most cases are due to B. melitensis (2-4).
