The opening chapters (general essays on historical background, ethnobotany, and psychedelic drug uses and abuses) are followed by groups of chapters of kawa (decoction from Piper methysticum), nutmeg, South American snuffs, ayahuasca, caapi, yagé, and fly agaric, covering native practices, chemistry of active principles, and pharmacology.
