I am a lotus-eater from India given to loud-thinking. Many things in the Medical New World defy my comprehension.
I am reminded by scholarly papers and statistical analyses that as an FMG my pass rate in the ABIM is half that of USMG's, that I am a city slicker who shuns the unpolluted rural air, that I am somehow less of a physician-teacher-investigator than a USMG, that I am less proficient in English than the native, and that a cultural chasm separates me from the society-at-large.
