Dr. Haskell has succeeded in his aim of producing a treatise that is a succinct and timely "state of the art" book for the practitioner treating cancer patients. Despite the use of 53 collaborators, overlap and duplication has been avoided by careful editing. This is a concise replacement for the now outdated Cancer Medicine by Holland and Frei.
The first section is on general principles; the rest of the book deals with treatment of specific malignancies. Care has been taken to place treatment in the setting of the biology, staging, natural history, and prognosis of the particular cancer. The diagrams
