A group of 13 physicians, either formerly or currently associated with the Division of Infectious Diseases at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, have expanded a medical student and house officer infectious disease manual into a book. Section I deals with diagnostic and laboratory procedures, Section II deals with the subject in a disease-symptom-complex orientation, Section III deals with individual pathogens, and Section IV deals with chemotherapy. The information is accurate and up to date, covering virtually all aspects of the subspecialty in a clear, concise, and consistently well-organized manner.
