Chronic symptomatic diseases for which specific causes are not known and therefore for which we have no specific therapies are unfortunately still very much with us. This lack has resulted in the use of many forms of therapy that might offer a possibility of improving the quality or extent of life despite the absence of scientific evidence of efficacy and safety.
