The summaries in the Year Book volume represent a well-balanced selection of articles drawn from a wide range of journals, with topics in adult medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, psychiatry, and dermatology. The scope is as pertinent to the practice of general internal medicine as to family practice. Dr. Geyman's collection of abridged articles and abstracts is drawn from a much narrower range of journals; his selection appears to be based more on the desire to establish family practice as a distinct discipline than to reflect the clinical problems that concern both internists and physicians in family practice.
