Since nephrology has emerged as a fully recognized subspecialty of internal medicine, a growing number of textbooks have been written to deal with this rapidly expanding body of knowledge. Most of these textbooks emphasize the strictly renal aspects of the systemic diseases in which the kidney is involved secondarily. This textbook attempts to provide a broader reference source on renal involvement in systemic diseases.
This second edition deletes a few chapters and adds 12 new chapters. The book is divided into eight sections dealing with immunologic diseases, hematopoietic and oncologic diseases, metabolic and endocrine diseases, and liver and infectious diseases.
