The authoritative compendium of generic, trade, and chemical names of drugs for which United States adopted names (USAN) have been issued from 15 January 1961 to 15 January 1981. The alphabetically arranged entries also include, as pertinent, year the USAN was published and its pronunciation; the drug's molecular formula and weight; brief description of pharmacologic or therapeutic category; manufacturer; code designation; and graphic formula. Not a guide to pharmacotherapy. Should be on the reference shelves of every clinical library.
