The editors and authors of this book do not believe that "less is more": Compared to the fifth edition, this one is longer, wider, fatter, and heavier (9.5 lb versus 6.5 lb), the better to contain its 50 (versus 38) contributors. Several chapters of the fifth edition have been dropped and new ones appear, such as endocrinology of pregnancy, psychoendocrinology, dysmentation from metabolic alterations, autoimmunity and endocrine disease.
