The purpose of this book is to provide the clinician with information needed to ensure safe, efficacious drug therapy in patients with kidney and liver disease. The title, however, is somewhat misleading in that this is also an excellent general textbook of clinical pharmacology. The first chapter, "Clinical Pharmacology for the Clinician" by Dr. C. R. Freed, is a masterpiece of clarity and simplicity and would be useful to any physician who prescribes drugs. The same may be said of the second chapter, "Altering Drug Dose in Patients with Diseases of the Kidney and Liver" by Dr. W. M. Bennett.
