To the editor: We read with interest Jirik and colleagues' report of a patient with clavicular hyperostosis, enthesopathy, and hypergammaglobulinemia (1). At presentation the patient had severe, scarring truncal and facial acne. The onsent of the acne corresponded to the onset of polymyalgias and polyarthralgias. Acne arthritis was considered as a possible diagnosis but dismissed by the authors. The reasons they gave were lack of reported cases of acne associated with hyperostosis and the failure of the patient's acne to correlate with the course of the arthritis.
