An innovative synopsis of major topics of interest in psychiatry, the first in a promised series of annual reviews developed from the Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association. This collection brings together compact review articles, with references, on five fields: psychiatric aspects of sexuality; the schizophrenic disorders; depression in childhood and adolescence; law and psychiatry; and the borderline and narcissistic personality disorders. The audience will be largely psychiatrists but the first and last sections (sexuality; personality disorders) will be useful to internists alert to emotional problems and disorders. An expensive book for nonpsychiatrists but handsome in design and product.
