To the editor: I write with regard to the review, "Pseudotumor Cerebri," by Ahlskog and O'Neill in the August issue (1). This is a cumbersome article, unselective in its content, which serves only to add to existing confusion about the syndrome. The authors have unfortunately omitted reference to a number of recent papers that have thrown light on the subject.
A large number of causes of pseudotumor cerebri are cited and possible mechanisms discussed, with the authors concluding that decreased absorption of cerebrospinal fluid is the most likely explanation. The authors infer that pseudotumor cerebri is one condition with one
