Most of the common arterial and venous diseases are covered in a pragmatic and clinically oriented way in this handy guide. Although the authors present their material in a fairly uniform style that is easy to read, controversial aspects are not handled as well. An unusual but valuable feature is the chapter on diabetic neuropathy, an appropriate inclusion because diabetes is commonly associated with occlusive arterial disease. Other particularly good chapters discuss venous thrombosis, thoracic outlet syndromes, vascular disease of the gastrointestinal tract, and an overview of vasculitis.
