To the editor: Daugaard and associates (1) have recently reported their results with combination chemotherapy (vincristine, cyclophosphamide, and lomustine) in nine patients with malignant thymoma, with the addition of prednisone in six. Their intention to include cisplatin in future regimens seems appropriate, because several case reports have recently emphasized the activity of that drug in patients with invasive thymoma.
Our original report (2) on five cases of invasive or metastatic thymomas treated with a combination of bleomycin, doxorubicin, cisplatin and prednisone (BAPP) can now be updated to include a total of nine patients. We have seen one complete and five
