To the editor: The description by Carney and associates (1) of the newly identified syndrome of gastric atrophy and multiple carcinoid tumors, has prompted our review of a case seen last year at our institution.
A 54-year-old white woman was admitted with weakness and fatigue. The patient had adult onset diabetes mellitus, thyroprivic hypothyroidism, and pernicious anemia from age 35, confirmed by the Schilling test. The patient was being treated for these disorders.
