From cancer therapy to the management of chronic allergic rhinitis, immunologic techniques have had tremendous impact over the past 20 years. The nephrologist, gastroenterologist, and general internist alike have had many immunologic procedures added to their diagnostic capabilities. The broad application of immunology to the clinical specialties has created a need for an overview of this dynamic field. This book's stated intention is "to help bridge this [communication] gap so that the current practical aspects of immunology may be applied to specific patient problems."
