To the editor: We are disturbed by some statements in the editorial by Dr. Deiss (1) in the issue in which our paper on zinc treatment of Wilson's disease (2) appeared.
First, Dr. Deiss mistakenly states that we have confirmed that zinc therapy produces a negative copper balance in patients with Wilson's disease. There have not been previous reports on copper balance in patients during zinc treatment of Wilson's disease, so this is an original aspect of our work.
