Although most books on sports medicine relate to injuries, team physicians and associated health workers in sports medicine recognize that many problems they treat are not injury related. This book will help meet these needs. Authors from disciplines as diverse as environmental health, exercise physiology, psychology, and medicine deliver a readable and thoughtful review of nontraumatic medical problems. The book includes sections on cardiovascular disorders, organ system disorders, problems of special groups of participants, the environment, selected topics, and an appendix that contains a summary of policy positions of sports-related specialty groups.
