Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a new diagnostic technique that relies on radio-frequency-induced nuclear resonance to chart physicochemical differences between tissues, rather than using ionizing radiation. This technique is the subject of a recent case study on medical technology by the Office of Technology Assessment (1).
