The text concentrates on the diagnostic process and does not deal with pathophysiology or therapy except where pertinent. The alphabetically arranged chapters cover 17 medical subspecialties (8 in gastroenterology; 4 in cardiopulmonary; 4 in neurology; 1 on dermatology) and 14 surgical subspecialties (5 in otolaryngology; 5 related to orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems; 4 pertaining to the genitourinary tract). The topics range from abdominal pain, backache, and belching to urethral discharge, vaginal itching, and weight gain.
