The Alzheimer collection is made up of translations and the original illustrations of six seminal papers on the clinical manifestations and pathology of Alzheimer disease, including the original description by Alois Alzheimer and relevant papers by Oskar Fischer, Francesco Bonfiglio, Emil Kraepelin, and Gaetano Perusini. This collection appears opportunely now that this dreadful disorder is the focus of intense new and fruitful research; unfortunately its introduction has nothing to say about "the early story," and many readers will have to go elsewhere to find out who Alzheimer and his contemporaries were and what else they did.
