To the editor: In the NIH conference on the human interleukin-2 receptor (1), it is reported that interleukin-2 receptors in adult T-cell leukemia are overexpressed by the leukemic cells. It has also been reported (1, 2) that the interleukin-2 receptor is expressed not only on T lymphocytes but also on B lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Stimulated lymphocytes not only express on their surface interleukin-2 receptors but also produce soluble interleukin-2 receptors (3).
