To the editor: Neurologic abnormalities have rarely been described in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, are diverse in nature, and have not been reported in patients with colitic arthritis. We present the report of a patient who had brachial neuritis possibly caused by colitic arthritis.
A 32-year-old woman was hospitalized with fluctuating, asymmetrical polyarthritis of 2 months' duration, persistent abdominal cramping, diarrhea, weight loss, and subsequent severe bilateral shoulder and arm pain.
