Much of the software developed for clinical nutrition has focused on creating parenteral and enteral feeding regimens for hospitalized patients. The DINE (Diet Improvement and Nutritional Evaluation) system is aimed at the more healthy outpatient population, and is designed to aid in evaluating and improving the dietary intake of this population. The DINE software was developed in 1980 at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and has recently been updated to the present version.
