G. VITAL DURAND
To the editor: The review by Young (1) on the implementation of SI units was thorough and didactic. It is a valuable contribution to improved communication among professionals and scientists. In the case of medicine, precise and specific information may prove lifesaving. Therefore it is unfortunate that a common mistake has been endorsed by the author. Litre is to be abbreviated as small l, not capital L (2, 3).
