The future of infusional chemotherapy is uncertain. Despite theoretical considerations and a number of clinical trials by established investigators, several issues continue to impede its acceptance. Stability of agents, hardware capable of handling prolonged infusion schedules, and questions concerning the efficacy of this delivery technique need to be dealt with before practitioners adopt this method. This book examines the current state of infusional chemotherapy technology and explores possible directions for future study.
