The colon is increasingly recognized as a major source of clinical disease. Patients with inflammatory bowel disease or the irritable bowel syndrome are a large component of gastroenterologic and primary care practices. This book is a timely response to the recent increase in interest in colonic and anal diseases.
Up-to-date information is provided on all facets of colonic, rectal, and anal disease. Despite the importance of colonic disease to the practicing physician, few texts provide as full coverage of colonic diseases as this one. The bibliography is extensive and provides current source citations.
Anatomic, physiologic, and diagnostic principles are presented
