MR-TOD is a full function database management system with impressive technical capabilities. It is specialized for the collection, management, analysis, and presentation of data from clinical or basic science research studies. It has several unique features and is integrated with modules for statistical analysis, graphical display, and importing or exporting data in a wide variety of formats. MR-TOD was ported from CLINFO, a minicomputer and mainframe system developed in the 1970s by BBN, a think tank in Cambridge, Massachusetts-which may explain its primary weakness, the outdated user interface.
