For a pocket (large) book, the Manual offers substantial detail. The coverage includes neurologic problems, poisoning, nursing considerations, and burns. The annotated bibliographies cover some books in addition to journal articles. Clinical Problems . . . covers virtually the same ground but with less sharply pruned and clearly shaped text; it also includes annotated bibliographies. On balance the sharper focus and lower price of the Manual should give it the advantage for appeal to most potential buyers of either of these two texts. (EJH)
