To the Editor: I have been reading the Annals with pleasure for many years. The article by Masur and colleagues (1) caught my attention because of the number of authors: There are 18! This must be a world's record for the number of authors (if one excludes the Government), but my Guinness Book fails to list this as an item. These persons probably assisted in some way in the data collection, but can you imagine 18 authors trying to find some common phrasing for their ideas?
