A wide-scope, detailed, meta-analytic survey of drug treatments for duodenal ulcer studied in clinical trials. The opening sections on the meta-analytic methods and characteristics of trials considered are followed by detailed presentations on many drugs, compared with placebo or other drugs. The closing section ranks drugs by efficacy, financial costs, nonfinancial costs, and side effects. The 333 references cover methodologic literature and the published reports of the trials considered.
