The consultation skills referred to in the title of this helpful book are not those of the bedside medical consultant, but rather those of the designated problem-solver within a corporate structure. Although the problems and procedures discussed in the book are applicable to any business or other setting where policies are made, resources mobilized, and problems identified and more or less solved, the authors, coming from a background as consultants to health science centers, have specifically developed their discussion around the needs of health care professionals.
