Most of the problems covered by this novel textbook are mainly in the domains of neurologists, orthopedists, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, and psychiatrists. Nevertheless, there is much here for the many physicians strongly interested in music and dance, and an internist may be the first physician to be consulted about the hand and arm problems of pianists, violinists, and other musicians; about joint problems in dancers; and about hearing loss. The opening chapter sketches the history and development of this young field.
