The importance of physical exercise and nutrition to general health and well-being is now recognized by both health professionals and the general public. Although the physiology of exercise in normal persons and the effects of disease on exercise function are of interest and importance to clinicians from various medical disciplines, most practitioners have a limited background in the principles of integrated exercise physiology. The objective of this book is to give the reader a foundation for understanding nutrition, energy transfer, exercise, and training.
