To the Editors: The failure of Wright and coworkers (1) to find specific hepatitis C virus (HCV) sequences by reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction in 15 patients with acute hepatic failure who were referred for liver transplantation is surprising. Unfortunately, the brevity of the report makes it difficult to evaluate the applicability of their results to other series.
