To the Editors: I read with interest the article by Stenson and colleagues (1). The authors chose to use Max-EPA (R. P. Scherer, Clearwater, Florida), eicosapentaenoic acid, as their source of omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids. Because each capsule may contain 5 mg of cholesterol, giving patients 18 capsules per day would provide them with 90 mg of cholesterol each day. It would be interesting to know whether lipoprotein measurements were done before and after treatment with Max-EPA.
