I was reluctant to review this book; its title suggested that it might be another treatise on the benefits of unproven methods in the treatment of cancer. But the scientific method is supposed to make no judgments about a hypothesis, save that the issue be testable, and, given the book's subtitle, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did, because I was rewarded with much information about many of the remedies that some patients find in the health food store. However, this book is not so much a discussion of research as it is a collection of descriptions of many unproven therapies for cancer.
