Drs. Ertle and Bolhack say that software to support the administrative infrastructure of office practice won't save office practice, and I agree. The problems besetting office practice are too multifactorial for a simple fix to succeed. I did say that better computer software could strengthen the administrative infrastructure of office practice. It's not a complete solution, but we can do it. And it will help.
I worry that problems that are beyond the capacity of medical leadership to solve are diverting people from tackling solvable problems. Partial solutions are better than no solutions.
